A picture named davedl.gifI got my Florida driver's license today. My old California license expires in a few weeks. The new one expires in 2011. Now there's a foreign concept. The eye test was interesting. You put your face against a pair of lenses. "Read line five," said the examiner. I breathed a sigh of relief, I could read it. Two groups of five letters each. I read them aloud. The examiner asked if I could read the third group. I couldn't see a third group. She asked if I had any sight in my left eye at all. I explained that I did, but there was a big blurry spot in the middle. She checked a box and said I could only drive cars with a left-side mirror. No problemmo.
