Scoble: "Yesterday had a wonderful Channel 9 interview with another Microsoft team too. Oh, this is gonna be a fun one. I can't talk about it, but they are working very hard to make sure that Santa has a little gift for all of you that you'll like. I hope they get it done, I was very suprised at it. Speechless, actually." Permanent link to this item in the archive.

This being the audio Christmas, I recorded one of my favorite short stories as a child, The Gift of the Magi by O. Henry. It's a story about love and sacrifice, it's a funny story, but a simple one that children can understand. If you have a child nearby, let me tell them a story, along with you.  Permanent link to this item in the archive.

Speaking of amazing cats, I spoke with Dave Jacobs yesterday. He had his kidney transplant on Friday. He sounded weak, but there was a quality to his voice, a certain health, that I don't think I had ever heard before. He was up, out of bed already, sitting in a chair. He said he couldn't believe how hard it was to get there. They don't let you lie around after surgery because that's how you get pneumonia. When I had my heart surgery two years ago, they got me out of bed the very next morning to eat my breakfast. No breakfast in bed for this pup. Anyway, I hardly know what to think about Dave. I've known for over ten years that this day was coming. For quite a while it seemed it never would. That's the amazing thing about life, it's a wild ride, you just can't tell what's coming next. Permanent link to this item in the archive.
